Why?
Why? We ask this question all the time. This blog is about the method we adopt to find an answer to this question. I have identified to distinct ways. The first gives the cause as an answer, and the second a possible effect.
To give an example: Let us ask why does a seed germinate? The first approach will tell you that the conditions like moisture, sunlight, oxygen availability were conducive for germination to take place. If you take the second approach, you would probably say that because it has to grow into a tree, and germination is a necessary process, it germinates.
It is important to note the difference in the two approaches. One looks at the past, the other into the future. Therefore, the perspectives are entirely different. Each has its own merits.
By studying the cause, we gain knowledge. It can help us learn from our failures. It can also show us the winning-formula. But sometimes, if we give too much importance to this, we may end up crying over spilt milk.
In such cases, the second approach comes to our rescue. There is always light at the end of the tunnel. It may be that at the end of the dark phase, a pleasant gift is waiting for us. We never know what we are going to get until we actually get there. This approach fills us with some hope that eventually things will be fine. But overdoing this will lead to daydreaming.
So, choose wisely.

P'haps the first appraoch is the 'Why' appraoch and the second is the 'Why not?' approach.
