Kaaka Kaaka

I am listening to the songs of Kaaka Kaaka now, and an idea hit my head. I thought I will write about why I like the movie.

The movie has everything in it. Fast paced action, romance, suspense, great music, fantastic sreenplay, and awesome direction. Probably there's nothing missing in the ingredients of the film. I like it for all these and for something else. It is for the character played by both Surya and Jyotika.

Both Anbuselvan (Surya) and Maya (Jyotika) have an unusual character. They are not the normal guy or girl we come across in our lives. Anbu is single, has no experience with women, and yet when he falls in love with Maya, he is mature enough not to chase her, like we see in most movies. Maya's feminity is striking, like when she tries to avoid Anbu and suspests him unnecessarily (I think most women have this bad habit - they suspect everyone). The uniquenes of the character is seen in she being open about her feelings. This is unlike most women, who keep dropping confusing, contradicting, enigmatic, puzzling, perplexing hints and expect the guys to pick up. (Guys can't, we are dumb) The scene in which she professes her love for Anbu, and the one in which she says "It's a girl thing..." are awesome. I always feel if all women were like Maya, everyone's life would be far simpler.

More than everything, I like it for the subtle philosophy hidden in the movie. Before Maya came into his life, Anbu's life was uncomplicated. He had no headaches, no dual responsibilities, no personal commitments. He could devote himself completely to his profession which he loved. Come Maya, everything gets ruined. He loses evrything. At this point, I just want to point out that Maya means illusion.

Hi,

I am not sure whether the director had an intention to include such subtle philosphies in this movie.Never mind, you seem to have come up with a very nice observation.Just want to know what you think about The Matrix philosophy,I am sure your view will be refreshingly different from ours.

Enjoyed reading your blogs. And don't try to change the way you write. You are at your best when you write philosophically.
