Logic v Intuition
One said that there are various levels of existence. A definite hierarchy. The individuals in one level are controlled by the ones at a higher level. For instance, machines are controlled by humans and the putpose of every machine is also defined by humans. SO if you apply this to humans, then our purpose has been defined and we are completely controlled by some other force so that we achieve that purpose. That would mean that we have no choice. And he went on to say many more things I don't remember.
The other fellow said that at all points of time during our life, our activities are partly controled by us and partly by this external force which he called nature. What percentage is controlled by us keeps on varying. Based on the actions in this life, the soul is either given another life or not. He also continued to say many other things.
I was watching all this. My observation were these. There are millions of questions for which we have no answer. However, when logic is applied with certain assumptions, which can neither be proved right nor wrong, we come to certain conclusions. But when the assumptions change even the conclusions change. A lot of these conclusions are contradicting. Therefore, logically we can conclude that logic is not ultimate and it cannot help us. A paradox of sorts!
I said that there are a lot of questions. I wonder whether there is a single question that forms the basis of all these. Its like what Trinity says to Neo in a club 'Its the question ...'. Perhaps we all have the same question and our life is driven by the question. We are constantly seeking to know the answer to that question which we do not know. Some of us are aware of this and so keep thinking about it while the rest are ignorant and therefore live their lives running behind all sorts of things. I mean whats the point in trying to know how waves are formed in the ocean or how an aircraft flies or many of these things when we don't know anything about myself and my life.
So if there is an answer we are seeking and if logic cannot help us, then what can help us? I don't know. But I guess it is intuition that provides us the key. We need to stop deducing and instead start percieving. Have an insight. For instance, when there are two lovers, they understand that the other person loves him/her not by logically analysing the actions and words and finally concluding 'Yes. This person loves me' or 'This person doesn't love me', but they intuitively understand that. They know. If you do the kind of analysis, then you do not really love that person. So the point is intuition cn help us.
But then how do we intuit?
